Visual Effects:
Although Ubuntu supports 3D effects by default (if your hardware supports it), they lack a way to configure significantly. To fix this simply install 'Compizconfig-settings-manager' either graphically from Synaptics or from Terminal by typing $sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager.

After installing you fill find it in System > Preference, open it and customise your visual effects as you like them.
Tweaks, Settings, Plugins and more

Super Clipboard:
If you ever wanted to copy multiple items to your clipboard, you can use a small (650 kb) utility called Glipper. Once installed, you can add it as an applet in any of your panels (named as Clipboard Manager), and now whenevr you copy anything, your previous copied item is stored in a stack. You can select it by clicking the applet icon, and paste it in the regular way.
