Create site maps:

Nowadays with a huge demand and requirement for Search Engine Optimisation, the need to create a more user friendly and accessible website is important. For the same reason the creation of a sitemap for your website is highly recommended. There are numerous extensions for Joomla which help with the creation of a sitemap. But you can do the same yourself very easily with absolutely no extension required. The menu module is crucial for this; it is like a tree with all the items present in the system branching out. This can obviously be employed to create a sitemap.

Create a new article and call it Sitemap. In its body type out loadposition sitemap. Now create a new menu item named sitemap and let it point to this new article. In the module manager setup a new Menu Module. In the position box just type Sitemap. Keep the Always show submenu items selected along with the expand menu. Finally add more modules for each menu and you should now have a nice sitemap which you can further style using CSS and may be add some folding using JavaScript.

Feeds:

A good way to automatically update your website with latest information is by making use of RSS feeds. There are multiple Joomla modules that allow you to insert RSS feeds from different sources into your web site. However if you want to insert an RSS feed within an individual article rather than modules, the easiest way to do this would be using the RSS feed plugin for Joomla 1.5. This plugin gives you the ability to simply use a line of code like {RSS}http://feed.feedburner.com/trickmaker{/RSS} that allows you to have an RSS feed embedded right into your articles.
