Looks better than it sounds
The ASUS N53Jq has a textured silver finish and is built like a tank. The keyboard has flat keys that are beveled at the bottom. The key-spacing is cramped, and slows down typing speeds and accuracy. The touchpad lacks precision and responsiveness. There are dedicated on/off switches for Wi-Fi and the integrated webcam. It also features single USB 3.0 port, eSATA and HDMI out. A 720p HD LED Screen and a Blu-ray drive complete its claim to multimedia fame.
The SUS N53Jq blazes through most of the synthetic benchmarks without any complaints. The HD movie playback delivered crisp and vivid colours with excellent video reproduction. The sound reproduction, how-ever, failed to live up to expectations. The laptop scored 54 fps in FarCry 2 and 197 fps in Doom 3. The visuals were vivid and impressive. Overall, the N53Jq is a decent multimedia laptop that you can play the occasional game on.
Battery-life is poor, but then that’s expected of most higher-end laptops. Though the price tag of Rs 68,999 sounds steep, you get what you’re paying for with the N53Jq.
