Keyboard shortcuts:
If your Android smartphone supports a physical keyboard, you can set shortcuts to open applications quickly by modifying the options in Settings > Applications > Quick Launch. The default settings are as follows:
Search + b opens your Browser.
Search + c opens Contacts
Search + e opens Email
Search + p opens Music
Search + s opens Messaging

Sometimes while typing with the predictive text feature on T9, you may accidentally send a wrong word, for instance. We faced the same problem with typing the, it kept suggesting thwarting! Go to Settings > Language and Keyboard >User Dictionary.
Press the menu button to add new entries or tap on existing ones to edit them.
Voice type:
This feature works on Android Eclair and newer versions. You can use your smartphone as a personal dictation machine. Launch the keyboard by taping on any text field. Select the microphone icon on the keyboard. To record your message, all you need to do is speak into your microphone. For punctuating. saying comma and period enters the respective punctuation. This feature, however, requires a proper data connection.
Copy pasting:
Copy and pasting on Android Eclair and older versions of Android is not as comfortable. Getting accustomed to text selection will help you significantly. Tap and hold your finger over the text you want to copy, cut, paste or select. Push and hold your finger down the track pad button.
A menu appears where you can select the action you want to take.
