Use your location:


Find places around your location based on GPS detection faster by activating Mylocation. This can be done by switching your GPS ON from Settings > Location and Security. Select My Location from Settings > Privacy.

Sync favourite destinations:

Sync your tagged destinations between your web account and your smartphone with some simple and quick steps. In the Google Maps app, enter the address of any regularly visited destination, and select the star that appears on the top right corner of the Maps screen. This syncs the location with your Google account and can be retrieved from either your PC or your Android phone.

Quick directions:
Faster directions
For a faster navigation, you can use the starred addresses to get diections on Google Maps. To so this, open your Google Maps app, select directions from the menu, select the icons at the end of Start point and End point. A list of starred destinations will appear there. Select any of the starred destinations to amke them starting or ending point for your navigation.

You can also select my location to the end point to navigate your way back to your hotel on a vacation.

Setting navigation shortcuts
You can save locations you visit regularly, on the home screen. This way, you can screen your route considering traffic densities and the route type. To do this, tap and hold your finger on the home screen, and select Shortcuts from the Add to home screen menu. Choose Directions and Navigation. This sets your current location as the default starting point. All you now need to do is set the destination. You can give a name to this route, select an appropriate icon, and pin it to the home screen. The GPS iconon your home screen opens the route in Google Maps on tapping, along with the traffic details. In case you find heavy traffic, you can reroute by selecting the icon in the bottom right corner. This gives you three alternate options, which you can select for your navigation.
