Once you launch Soundbooth you will see an empty editing area. To start recording a voice clip simply click on the red button at the bottom of this empty editing area. Alternatively you can also go to File > Record or hit [Ctrl] + [R]. this will launch the recording dialog. Here you just specify the source i.e. Microphone device and click record. Once done name the file and click save.
