Developers have always had a problem with averloading CSS rules and rule hierarchy is always troublesome for inexperienced coders while designing a web layout. Traditionally you had to comment out or cut and paste existing CSS rules in the CSS code and re render the page in your browser to check its effect. This process was very tedious cumbersome. But there is a very simple way to do the some thing now with the help of Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 to write your CSS code you can make use of the CSS Styles panel to enable and disable indivisual rules separetely within the code.
All you need to do is select the particular rule or multiple rules you want to disable and use the Disable/Enable CSS Properly button at the bottom of the panel to disableit. An icon indicating that the rule has been disabled appears next to the rule. Now you can make use of LiveView Option in Dreamweaver to view the effect of disabling the specific rules. Clicking the button again after selecting the rules simillary enables the rules. You can also use this technique to test the effect of multiple rules by writing all of them within the code and quickly enabling or disabling them to check their effect on the page.
