Acer Liquid Mini E310 is a younger cousin of the higher end Acer Liquid. Housing the Android 2.2 FroYo OS, it’s upgradeable to 2.3, but we wonder how smooth the user interface would be with 600 MHz of processing power. Aesthetics are very similar to the Acer Liquid. We didn’t like the cheap plastic cover and absence of flash above the 5 MP camera. As with the older Liquid phones, the Mini also has an overlaid Breeze UI with slight modifications. The history module on the left hand side has a coverflow interface which continues on the right hand side with the media.
Call quality across all test zones was quite good with clear voice rendition and this was true of the handsfree as well. User interface is quite snappy. It comes with integrated social networking apps such as Facebook and Social Jogger – which integrates your Twitter and Facebook updates. The notification bar also has multiple home screens popping out from each icon, which is quite a good feature to have. The 5 MP camera is great for outdoor shots and has quite a few customization options. Indoor shots are noisy. Video shooting is not good at all as there is prominent framing and visible changing of colour cast as you move your phone’s camera. Sound quality is OK, but the volume levels are not that impressive. The bundled earphones provide no sound isolation, so you are better off not listening to music in traffic.
Acer Liquid Mini E310 is an affordable phone for its features and performance and ideal for someone looking at a feature rich phone.
