Personalize or Change your Windows 7 Login Screen

If you does not like your login screen of Windows 7, then change it to your favorite wallpaper. This can be done by using utility program, but I will tell you how to do it without using any utility program.

Step 1- Open the Notepad and enter the following texts in it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background]
"OEMBackground"=dword:00000001

Now Save this file as .reg in your desktop.

Step 2- After file is create, double click on it or right click on it and Select 'Merge' to add it to registry. Avoid the message and Click 'Yes'.

Ignore the message after clicking .reg file, Click 'Yes'

Step 3- Now time to select the background image you want. Picture must be in Landscape mode and its resolution must be equal to the resolution of the screen otherwise the background image will be stretched. Also the background image must not be greater than 256 KB in size, for this use any image editor. And rename the picture to 'backgrounddefault.jpg'.

Step 4- Create a folder with name 'backgrounds' under the folder 'C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info'. Now paste you favorite selected image in this folder, then it's done. Logout from Windows or lock your keyboard using the shortcut Win + L and now you can see you favorite background image in its place. You can change this image any time by only replacing the new image to old image in its located folder.
